Quick Facts About JCHE
Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization that provides exceptional, affordable and supportive independent housing to over 1,300 seniors of all backgrounds.
We are nationally recognized for quality programs and services that enable our residents to live out their lives in their own JCHE homes even as they face the challenges of aging.
JCHE currently has five buildings located at three sites: Ulin House, Leventhal House and Genesis House in Brighton, MA (a neighborhood in Boston); Golda Meir House in Newton; Coleman House in Newton.
Our sixth building - the Morton and Etta Shillman House on the Weinberg Campus in Framingham -- is currently under construction. The projected occupancy date for this 150 unit building is Spring 2011. Ninety (90) of the Shillman House units will be reserved for low income seniors, and 60 units will be attractively priced for seniors with higher incomes.
JCHE utilizes rents and public rent subsidies to cover the cost of operations and upkeep of the beautifully maintained buildings. We raise private resources through individuals, corporations and foundations to fund supportive services and life-enhancing services.
