JCHE Senior Management StaffEllen Feingold, President
Overseeing JCHE as its President since 1981, Ellen Feingold is recognized locally, nationally, and internationally. In 2002, Ellen completed her tenure as Co-Chair of the U.S. Commission on Affordable Housing and Health Facility Needs for Seniors in the 21st Century. During the Carter Administration, Ellen served at the Assistant Secretary level as Director of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Civil Rights. Ellen has been recognized by numerous organizations. She received the Public Citizen of the Year Award from the National Association of Social Workers, Massachusetts Chapter. She was acknowledged by the Association of Jewish Aging Services with the Award of Honor. The Massachusetts Gerontology Association awarded Ellen its prestigious Louis Lowy Award in 2005. She has also been honored by the Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action, Citizen Housing and Planning Association and the Russian Jewish Community Foundation.
Sheila Ardery, Vice President for Operations
As JCHE’s Vice President for Operations, Sheila Ardery is the property manager at the Brighton site, directing day-to-day operations for over 700 units in Ulin House, Leventhal House, and Genesis House. She also oversees the property management staff at Golda Meir House and Coleman House. Sheila has a Master’s degree from Tufts University in Urban and Environmental Policy. She has worked in subsidized housing for nearly 30 years, including at the Boston Housing Authority and MassHousing.
Allan Isbitz, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Real Estate Development
Allan Isbitz manages the financial affairs of the organization and directs the development of new buildings, currently overseeing the planning of JCHE’s new housing development in Framingham. He also supervises the refinancing program for JCHE’s existing properties. Allan’s previous experience includes housing development under the Dukakis Administration. Presently, he serves as Vice President of the National Leased Housing Association. Allan earned the National Association of Housing Management Agents’ NAHP-e certification and has a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University.
Caren Silverlieb, Vice President for Resident Policy and Program Development
Caren Silverlieb is responsible for the administration, design and coordination of a broad range of supportive services available to residents in each of JCHE’s buildings. Caren has focused her career on the development and implementation of senior housing and services. Prior to joining JCHE’s staff, Caren was the owner of SilverLining Consulting, a successful business that helped organizations create and maintain housing and service programs for seniors. She is a graduate of Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management, where she received a Master’s Degree in Management of Human Services, with a concentration in Aging.
Fredda Zaiger joined the JCHE staff in 1993 at the start of the organization’s fundraising program. Under her leadership, JCHE has significantly expanded its fundraising capability, resulting in the enhancement of facilities, programs, and services enjoyed by over 1,300 tenants. Fredda oversees the annual fund and is currently managing The Campaign to Build Shillman House, JCHE’s $8 million capital campaign (Giving Opportunities) Fredda is an active member of the Association of Jewish Aging Services and has led development workshops at several of their national conferences. She received a B.A. from Boston University’s School of Management. |
