Wednesday for Senior Learners

Welcome to Week 6 of “Wednesday for Senior Learners”, a 14-week JCHE program hosted at our Coleman House in Newton that brings together local authors, historians, and scholars to deliver engaging lectures on topics ranging from presidential history to the art of writing a short story. The program also features entertainment, current events discussions, and exercise classes geared to senior adults. Registration is open, so please help us spread the word about this exciting opportunity for learning and connection.

11:30am – “The Short Story” with Rosalie Davies
A longtime resident of New England, Rosalie Davis teaches writing and literature part-time at Brookline Adult and Community Education. She recently completed the Master of Liberal Arts Degree in Humanities, English Concentration, at Harvard University, where her thesis was nominated for the 2015 Dean’s Outstanding Thesis Award. Her short story, “When the Pears are Ripe,” won 2nd place in the 2010 UNH Fiction Contest and was published online.
12:30pm– Lunch-Tuna Sandwich-$5.00
1:15pm–The Richard Bern Musical Hour.
Come join in the fun as Richie takes you on a musical journey through the decades of hit songs from various centuries. Ritchie is a vocalist and a guitar player. It’s time to enjoy an old fashionedsing-a-long.
