Residents knit lovingly for neighborhood babies
Recently our Brighton Knitting Project volunteers assembled 18 bags for the Welcome Baby Program of the Allston-Brighton Family Network. Volunteer visitors from the program pay a one-time celebratory home visit to low-income families with newborns who live in the neighborhood. Every visitor brings a bag for the baby. The highlight of the gift are the sweet handmade items created lovingly by JCHE volunteers, including knit and crochet blankets, hats, socks and mittens.
