Newton Tab Features JCHE’s Generations Together Program

Posted: May 19, 2016

The Newton Tab was there to cover the story when a group of seven Chinese residents from Golda Meir House visited their friends at Newton North High School. The students had visited the residents at Golda Meir House several times before, so they had established relationships, but this was the first time the residents visited to the students on their turf.

It’s all part of the Generations Together program, which is directed by JCHE’s Jessica Hamermesh. “The tenants love when the students come,” says Hamermesh. “The students walked in on the first day and it seemed like they already knew them.”

These pictures and the article in The Tab capture the excitement, warmth and connection that everyone felt on this latest “friendship visit.” You can read the article, entitled “Newton North Chinese program bonds generations,” by clicking here
