Internship at JCHE offers insights and directions for the future

Posted: June 13, 2013

As my internship ends, I would like to take the time to thank all of the staff members and residents who have welcomed me into the JCHE family.  I cannot thank you enough for making me feel as if I have been working with this organization for a couple of years, instead of just six months.

I was very excited when I first accepted this co-op position, and now I can confirm that I made the right decision!   Working with Francine, Maya, and Stacy has been such an incredible experience.   I would especially like to thank them for taking the time to teach me how to use File Maker Pro, how to assist tenants in any given situation and the most current and excellent exercises, interventions, and programs for our older adult residents.  Most important and valuable to me was that I learned how I can help our residents maintain a healthy lifestyle!

We all worked together as a successful team, and I learned a great deal from this wonderful collaboration. This internship did not only give me a hands on work experience in a gym/fitness environment, but it also made me realize that I would like to pursue a similar occupation.  I know I will start classes at Northeastern University again, with a much greater knowledge that will continue to guide me in my future.

Once again, it has been a pleasure working at JCHE and I appreciate all of the support from everyone throughout the past six months!

Chelsey Goldberg is a Northeastern University student who has just completed a six month internship with JCHE's Fitness and Wellness team. All of us at JCHE thank her for her enormous contributions and hope she will stay connected to us!
