This week, JCHE's Brighton campus honored its 140 volunteers. Volunteers are the backbone of JCHE's housing. They are essential to our ability to run smoothly day after day. They assume many key functions including managing our busy front desk, escorting residents to medical appointments, serving on the Resident Council, delivering meals, teaching English as a Second Language and overseeing our libraries. The list goes on and on. To acknowledge the commitment and talent they contribute to JCHE, we have a luncheon annually. This year's was especially special -- Alex Prohorov and his teen sons performed songs in Russian, Yiddish, Hebrew and English.

We welcomed several guests this year including Senator William Brownsberger and City Councillor Mark Ciommo. We were also joined by Kelly Stout, Director of RSVP for the City of Boston and her assistant Anique Lanolois. When greeting the residents, Kelly said that when she recruits volunteers throughout the city, she oftens describes the JCHE's amazing volunteers.
