JCHE Welcomes Grantmakers In Aging to our Brighton Campus

Posted: October 18, 2017

We were thrilled to welcome Grantmakers In Aging (GIA)--a philanthropic membership organization dedicated to improving the experience of aging--to our Brighton campus.

JCHE President & CEO Amy Schectman gave twenty six GIA members the JCHE 101 on the bus ride from the conference to our Brighton campus.

Once here, GIA members broke into three groups. Each group got an overview of the diverse array of fitness programs we offer from Fitness & Wellness Director Francine Godfrey, who then led the GIA team in an anti-arthritis class, one of her more popular classes.

They recieved an orientation to our Joyful Connections! program and Habilitation Model designed for adults with Alzheimer's and other dementias from Caren Silverlieb, Director of Strategic Planning & Partnerships.

A tour of one of our newly renovated Kurlat House apartments showcased our efforts to design apartments with amenities ideal for older adults.

To cap off the visit, the GIA team heard directly from residents about how JCHE's programs and services enrich their lives as they Age in Community.

Thank you Grantmakers in Aging for letting us be a part of your annual conference!
