Chinese delegation visits JCHE

Posted: September 13, 2013

Yesterday, the Harvard Kennedy School brought a distinguished delegation of leaders from China to JCHE to learn about senior housing. The visitors were from the China's Leaders in Development Program which is part of the Kennedy's Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation from the Harvard Kennedy School. This is the second year that participants from this program visited our Brighton campus to tour our buildings and gain an understanding of how senior housing operates.

President and CEO Amy Schectman, CFO Karen Edland and Executive Director Gaye Freed presented an overview of our mission, funding and services. Genesis House resident Audrey Cai told the group that JCHE enables seniors to have a life filled with learning and opportunities to remain engaged. She noted that JCHE makes it possible for seniors to strike a good balence between assistance and independence.  The afternoon ended with a lovely program of traditional music and dance performed by JCHE residents.
