Blogger Kimberly Blanton had been writing about some of the unpleasant issues related to nursing home care for her “Squared Away Blog,” which she writes for the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College, and she was wondering if there are positive stories about housing options for seniors.

That’s when she saw a post about the benefits of “aging in community” from JCHE’s CEO Amy Schectman on JCHE’s website. She found the JCHE’s message about community living to be hopeful and uplifting. So she contacted JCHE to follow-up.

The result was a visit to JCHE’s Shillman House in Framingham, which led to these two wonderful posts on Blanton’s blog:

“I was so honored that the seniors were willing to share their stories with me,” Blanton says. “And I was so impressed with the fullness of their lives at JCHE.”
