As needs increase, JCHE offers CaringChoices™, a program that enables residents to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own JCHE apartments. While the services vary slightly at our locations, the overall goal of the program is to provide services that make it possible for our more frail residents to remain at JCHE, and delay or prevent their need for nursing home placement.
At our Brighton Campus: Residents of Ulin House, Leventhal House and Genesis House in Brighton can participate in the Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP). The program offers a nutritious Kosher lunch in our dining room, medical escorting to doctors' appointments and Housecalls, which offers personal care and light housekeeping assistance, including medication reminders, preparation for bed, reassurance checks, toileting, warming up meals, washing dishes and taking out the trash. There is a modest fee for these services.
At Coleman House: Some residents of Coleman House receive in-home services through Springwell, which services as the Aging Services Access Point (ASAP) for Newton. A designated Springwell service coordinator is on-site specific times each week to explain and coordinate services for residents if needed. CaringChoices can provide subsidies on a sliding fee scale based on the resident's income and ability to manage daily tasks.
