JCHE’s Celebration 2008: A Night for Mitchell Cohen
Register NowJoin us (and event host Susan Wornick!) Sunday, June 1 at Neiman Marcus at the Natick Collection at 6:00 PM as we honor Mitchell Cohen!

"Helping JCHE build Shillman House is an extraordinary way for me to honor my parents' memory," Mitchell Cohen.

We hope you will join us Sunday, June 1 as we honor a very special individual. Mitchell Cohen, a Principal and Managing Director of Gordon Brothers Group, has been involved in numerous community efforts through the years and is very commited to JCHE's mission.

Concerned foremost with improving the lives of others, Mitchell has always avoided the limelight -- until now! Mitchell has graciously agreed to step forward for this event to help JCHE raise needed funds to build Shillman House in Framingham. "Shillman House offers MetroWest a housing resource that is both exciting and necessary. Helping JCHE build Shillman House is an extraordinary way for me to honor my parents' memory," explains Mitchell.

In the 1970s, the Cohen family lived in Framingham. Mitchell’s parents, Seymour and Syma Cohen, watched the influx of Jews into MetroWest and realized that the area needed Jewish-sponsored senior housing. Their aging friends and neighbors wanted to stay in the area, but were unable to find quality, affordable housing where they could live with dignity in a supportive environment. Seymour and Syma were envisioning a resource that Framingham was not yet ready to embrace. Unable to garner the level of support and commitment required to build housing, the Cohen's’ dreams went unrealized.

Now 30 years later, Mitchell is proud to participate in the effort to create the housing that his late parents had envisioned.

Mitchell is enthusiastic about JCHE’s Celebration 2008. “The evening is being planned by exceptional people and it’s for an exceptional cause. This is a great opportunity to support programs for current residents and help bring JCHE’s quality housing to MetroWest!”
